Agriculture Profile

Located in the heart of one of Colorado's leading agricultural regions, Yuma County is rich in the resources and topography needed for a successful agricultural operation. The availability of water from the Ogallala aquifer and center pivot irrigation systems has greatly increased crop production. Yuma County is the leading corn producer in Colorado. Additional crops of wheat, alfalfa, potatoes, sugar beets, sunflowers, pinto beans, and popcorn attest to the diversity of agriculture in Yuma County. The dairy, beef and swine industries also have a large presence in the county.
